Shopping for a car on the internet is so useless. I can't just sit and look and not want most everything I see. There is no simple way around doing this.
Unfortunately, my time is eaten by rehearsal, my money not very substantial, and my knowledge of cars inconsequential. I need a coach who can show me what I need to do, take me to possible purchase cars, and help me haggle prices.

I'm very afraid of buying a piece of crap, being in debt (well, more in debt anyway) for years and years over something that is just gonna be a headache. Part of me wants to spend as little as possible on something just so I can start saving for something nice a few years down the line.

Part of me wants to buy a new Mazda3, because they are the hip cheap car and I'm only looking at 6 years of car payments to get one.

seriously? I'll be in my 30's when I am done paying for it.

can't happen, I got dental bills.

new Kia Rio is about 3,000 cheaper and has 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. But still.

Edit: I miss the days when I was supposed to get my parents saturn (which I helped pay for btw).

    <lj:music>AFI Kiss and Control</lj:music>

So, I didn't get into Millie.

I am really surprised and angry. I believe that there were lots of politics involved and am somewhat distraught over the fact that this was the first musical I haven't gotten into since... umm, ever.

What is really annoying is that Ryan casted all of his Nipomo HS kids... I feel old and useless.

The only thing that made the least good was that I was asked to do another show in the same time frame. It is a best of Hollywood review with the same lady that did Razzle Dazzle last year. She was asked at the last minute and I guess there is very little time to rehearse, but she just did a similar show so it's gonna be pretty much the same. I just don't want to be in a show that ends up sucking or having empty audiences or being no fun.

Oh, and some songs on AFI's December Underground just get better every month. I don't understand why, but the album kicks ass, and two years after its release I still find myself enjoying it more than ever. Especially this spoken passage in Kiss and Control:

"We all want to die like movie stars" you said, as you jumped from the height of our cutting room floor.
While above us glowing, exploding, our dreams burst forth in light in death.
Hold me and tell me,
"We'll burn like stars. We'll burn as we fall. Watch as the city lights DANCE FOR US!"

Today I went out and got my Drivers License. It was quick and painless and I should have done it oh so much sooner. But, now I can live in the ranks of the status quo.

Now onto the next step. Getting a car.

Speaking of status quo, I am thinking about auditioning for High School Musical. You may laugh, but I think it might actually be fun.

The worst thing about this time of year is that the days keep getting shorter, and I hate midget jokes.

Razzle Dazzle was such an amazing experience. I have never been in a cast so well bonded from top to bottom. It seems like it was done in a flash, and with the end of the show came a realization that I had not seen any of my other friends in a long time.

Then I hung out with them and things seemed terribly droll. They've had all summer to putz around, use up all their creative energy, and it feels like they're in a holding pattern until things gear up for school again. We sit and do nothing and it thhhhhucks the energy from me. It is such a sharp contrast from the Razzle cast, which partied like there was no tomorrow... for there wasn't one.

Being single has been hard. During Razzle I hardly noticed it. I wanted to come home to someone, sure, but I was too tired to really dwell. Then the show closed and I crashed. I am still crashing hard. A theatre person stands up to a lot of rejection, but the closing of a show is an emotional sky dive.

A parachute only slows you down...

...It seems I leapt without one

Yesterday we worked our broken cast member back into a couple of numbers. She isn't 100%, but she can still do a couple of the dances.

...then Ryan broke. Towards the end of the show a guy hurt his knee pretty bad and couldn't walk afterwards. He left the theatre on prop crutches and we were all told to expect and early call so we can *for the third time* re-work spacing in dances which will be effected. Unlike the last girl, however, he has solos in the show, so things could get interesting.

In other news I don't think my tumbleweed audition went well. Will I get in? Sure. Will I get a part? uh... let me put it this way, the Assistant Director, the same Ryan as above, asked me if I would still do the show if I got ensemble.

...I said I don't know, and I meant it.

I auditioned for Tumbleweed Connection, and got a callback. Good news? yeah. There are three great guy parts, I don't think I am up for any of them, though, because I was asked to come prepared with one of the generic chorus songs from the show, and not a song specific to one of the main three.

Definitely didn't sing very well, which disappointed me greatly, but I danced with flying colors (a byproduct of dancing for two weeks straight at rehearsals maybe?). Should have had a vocal coach and been better prepared with my song.

Today was craptacular. I almost got hit by a car and fell over when I swerved on my bike (my roomates bike, actually. Mine was stolen). Some scrapes on my right arm and bruises on my left leg. Not hurt bad, but annoyed none the less. Now the shift on farley's bike is acting weird.

Then at work I realized I wasn't wearing my glasses. I thought I left them at home, but it turns out they fell off when I fell, and were crushed, probably many times, by cars. Fuck.

I'm going to read the script now and try to prepare for tomorrow's callback.

Our last dress went very well. due to delays we didn't get to the bows till 11:15... Then a dancer fell over and twisted her ankle.
...We all stayed another hour re-spacing things where a missing body wasn't that big an issue and throwing tech girls into numbers where it was.

Lucky me I got permission to come in late today and I am going to milk it for all it is worth.

Set my alarm for 10:15 so that I could get a *drum roll* seven hour nap. It's most I've slept in a week.

This mornings plans, laundry, buying of some missing make-up items, a present or two, harry potter, has been condensed into half of laundry/rush off to work.

I should have taken the whole day off when it was offered.
